În perioada 30 noiembrie – 1 decembrie 2024, Cluj-Napoca a găzduit un eveniment sportiv de amploare, Transylvania WUKF Karate Cup – 15th European Champions Cup 2024, considerat ultimul turneu european de mare anvergură din calendarul competițional WUKF (World Union of Karate-Do Federations). Acest turneu a reunit 18 țări, 26 de federații și 97 de cluburi sportive, cu un total impresionant de 933 de sportivi și 1508 intrări, fiind un punct culminant al sezonului competițional de karate.
WUKF este o organizație internațională ce promovează karate-ul la nivel global, având scopul de a organiza competiții pentru toate vârstele și nivelele, punând un accent deosebit pe standardele înalte de competiție și etica sportivă. Prin aceste competiții, WUKF susține dezvoltarea sportivă și personală a tuturor karateka din întreaga lume, contribuind la educația și formarea acestora.
Unul dintre cluburile de elită ale Brașovului, CS Karate JKA România, a avut o prestație remarcabilă, obținând 28 de medalii, dintre care 13 medalii de aur. Rezultatele excelente obținute de sportivii clubului au fost remarcabile atât la probele de kata, cât și la kumite, atât individual, cât și pe echipe. Aceștia au demonstrat un nivel înalt de pregătire și dedicare, reușind să câștige medalii valoroase în fața unor competitori de top din întreaga Europă.
